High-Ranking Officials' Asset Disclosure... "Ryu Ji-young, Auditor of National Pension, Tops with 13.5 Billion"

Government Official Ethics Committee Discloses Information Through Official Gazette

Ryu Ji-young, Standing Auditor of the National Pension Service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, reported assets amounting to 13,552,060,000 KRW, the highest among high-ranking officials whose status changed in December last year.


The Government Official Ethics Committee announced this on the 22nd by publishing the March asset registration details of high-ranking officials in the official gazette.


The disclosure this month covers 110 individuals whose status changed between December 1 of last year and January 1 of this year, including 21 new appointees, 26 promotions, and 57 retirements.


The current official with the highest reported assets is Ryu Ji-young, Standing Auditor of the National Pension Service under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, with 13,552,060,000 KRW.

In second place is Sung Tae-yoon, Policy Chief of the Presidential Secretariat, who reported assets worth a total of 8,812,220,000 KRW, including apartment pre-sale rights in Gaepo-dong, Gangnam-gu, and an apartment in Yongsan-gu.


Jo Sang-mi, President of the Central Social Service Agency under the Ministry of Health and Welfare, ranked third with 8,506,940,000 KRW reported.


Kang Jung-ae, Minister of Patriots and Veterans Affairs, reported 3,551,990,000 KRW; Song Mi-ryeong, Minister of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, reported 2,058,740,000 KRW; and Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, reported 937,580,000 KRW respectively.

Among retirees, Kim Eun-hye, former Senior Secretary for Public Relations at the Presidential Office, reported the highest assets at 25,719,140,000 KRW.


Park Sung-geun, former Secretary to the Prime Minister’s Office, ranked second with 22,278,500,000 KRW, followed by Kim Dae-gi, former Secretary to the Presidential Office, with 7,176,130,000 KRW.


Han Dong-hoon, former Minister of Justice and current Emergency Response Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, reported 3,956,780,000 KRW.
