Samsung C&T is expanding the value of residential spaces with ‘NextHome,’ which allows free design and transformation of living spaces, and the next-generation home platform ‘Homenic.’ They have introduced easily detachable walls and floors, as well as self-supporting furniture that becomes a wall itself.
The future housing model, NextHome, features the ‘Next Ramen Structure’ and ‘In-Fill System,’ enabling residents to freely customize their space according to their lifestyle. The ‘Next Ramen Structure’ is a new floor plan that allows residents to freely configure the interior space as they wish. Moving away from the load-bearing wall structure, it uses a ramen structure with vertical columns and horizontal beams, creating a new column-free (muju) interior. The interior space can be maximized through the ‘In-Fill System.’
They developed a prefabricated modular dry floor and wall system that allows easy disassembly, recycling, and reinstallation of floors and walls. Bathrooms are also pre-manufactured in factories and installed on-site, allowing flexible placement within the unit space.
Self-supporting furniture that itself becomes a wall is also an innovative attempt. Samsung C&T proposed the ‘Furniture Wall,’ which can be installed and moved freely, for ‘Raemian One Majesti (Gwacheon Jugong Complex 10),’ a project ordered at the end of last year. The number of rooms and floor plans can be configured as desired according to lifestyle and changes in household members.
‘Homenic,’ which encompasses residential culture and services, is also a core element of future housing. All residential services, including smart home services, cultural activities, and health management, can be accessed through a single application (app). Samsung C&T launched a dedicated app in August last year and first applied it to Raemian One Bailey. They signed agreements with residential management companies to expand Homenic to 13 Raemian apartment complexes in their 2nd to 5th years. Homenic is available in 13 complexes, including Raemian Blestige, covering 17,000 households.
Samsung C&T is further enhancing residential quality and complex value through Raemian’s representative landscaping brand ‘Nature Gallery’ and high-end community facilities. Additionally, to reduce noise between floors, they established Korea’s largest specialized noise research institute in 2022 and operate a large-scale experiential research facility. The ‘Raemian Goyoan Lab’ is a specialized noise research facility with a total floor area of 2,380㎡, spanning from basement level 1 to the 4th floor above ground.
