Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH Corporation) is recruiting the 3rd term of the 'SH Citizen Shareholders Group' to practice ESG management.
On the 15th, SH Corporation announced that it will publicly recruit applicants for the 3rd term of the SH Citizen Shareholders Group until April 12. The activity period is until December 31, 2025, and the number of recruits is 89.
The SH Citizen Shareholders Group started in 2019, and any Seoul citizen can participate to propose various ideas for residential stability and housing welfare and communicate with the corporation.
They are honorary shareholders separately appointed by the corporation, not shareholders specified under the Commercial Act, and they work without pay but receive attendance allowances for events. Shareholders who provide excellent ideas are given reward benefits.
The 3rd term of the SH Citizen Shareholders Group will consist of a total of 100 Seoul citizens. General citizen shareholders will recruit 79 people: ▲ youth aged 19 to 39 (59 people) ▲ middle-aged and older aged 40 and above (20 people).
The 'SH Corporation Direct Customer Shareholders' will be composed of 10 Seoul citizens aged 39 or younger who are residents of public housing sold or leased by the corporation. Outstanding active shareholders from the 2nd term (11 people) will also participate in the 3rd term.
The corporation will also recruit foreign international students and exchange students majoring in urban-related departments residing in Seoul as youth shareholders for the 3rd term to listen to diverse voices.
Citizen shareholders receive reports on the corporation’s management performance and business plans and can provide opinions. They can submit opinion statements on discussion topics requested by the corporation, such as policy forums, or propose policies for the residential stability of Seoul citizens. They can also receive reports on how much the shareholders’ opinions have been reflected in the projects.
To apply for the Citizen Shareholders Group, applicants must fill out the application form posted on the SH Corporation website and submit it via email. Applicants will be selected through the Citizen Shareholder Selection Committee’s review, and the selection results can be checked on the corporation’s website at the end of April.
Kim Heon-dong, President of SH Corporation, said, "To pursue innovation as a citizen-owned and citizen-managed shareholder company, we will continue to cooperate with the ‘SH Citizen Shareholders Group.’ We ask for the interest and participation of many Seoul citizens."
