Collaboration of 14 Public and Private Organizations, Promotion of 12 Integrated Care Projects

Busan's Gijang-gun is promoting the Gijang-type community integrated care project called the ‘2024 Gijang On(溫) Care Project’.

The ‘Gijang On(溫) Care Project’ is a Gijang-type model of the ‘Busan, Together Care Project.’ It involves providing integrated welfare services necessary for daily life, such as medical care, caregiving, and housing, to residents in need of care.

The county will actively carry out 12 integrated care projects this year in collaboration with 14 public and private organizations to help residents live happy and healthy daily lives within the community.

Following last year, nine projects with high resident satisfaction, such as housekeeping and side dish support, laundromats, and transportation card provision, will continue. New projects like ‘Safe Care for Discharged Patients,’ which supports the daily lives of discharged patients, and ‘Safe Hospital Accompaniment,’ which assists hospital visits, will also be launched.

In particular, the county plans to establish a detailed care safety net system in various fields by newly promoting its own project, ‘365 Care Plus Gijang,’ which provides customized health items such as strength bands, cognitive teaching aids, and medication calendars to individuals requiring physical and cognitive support.

Additionally, starting this year, the service target has been expanded from the elderly to any resident in need of care who can apply. The integrated care service centers, previously operated at nine locations including eup/myeon offices, comprehensive social welfare centers, and senior welfare centers, will be expanded to 12 locations by including Jeonggwan Senior Welfare Center, Gijang Regional Self-Support Center, and Gijang Disabled Welfare Center, actively discovering new care recipients.

County Governor Jeong Jong-bok stated, “Due to changes in family structure caused by the recent increase in single-person households and aging population, family-centered care functions are shrinking, raising social concerns about care for vulnerable groups. We will actively strive to find residents in need of care everywhere and eliminate blind spots in caregiving.”
