From Trays Embracing Minhwa to Mood Lamps... Will Starbucks' 'Beotkkot' Frenzy Erupt?

Collaboration with Permin... Reinterpreting Cherry Blossoms as Korean Minhwa
Craftsman Handmade Production Using Traditional Weaving Techniques
Limited Edition Products at 295 Stores and Online Store

Starbucks Korea will release a limited edition product featuring Korean-style cherry blossoms on the 14th, timed with the upcoming cherry blossom blooming season.

This product was created in collaboration with ‘Permin,’ a furniture maker specializing in folk paintings, reinterpreting the cherry blossom, a symbol of spring, through Korean folk art to embody the beauty of nature, hope, and blessings.

The ‘Blossom Wood Folding Tray’ is handcrafted by artisans combining natural paulownia and walnut wood with linen material. It features cherry blossom folk paintings on the side pillars and can be conveniently folded for storage when not in use. Paired with the ‘Blossom Wood Coaster,’ made using the traditional ‘jjaim’ weaving technique without adhesives or nails, it is perfect for enjoying tea time in spring.

The ‘Blossom LED Mood Lamp’ is designed with elegant cherry blossoms and can be used as an interior accessory during the day and a subtle mood lamp at night. It offers delicate brightness adjustment through touch control and is lightweight and portable due to its foldable paper material design. This product is available for customers who purchase beverages, food, or merchandise at stores.

Additionally, the ‘Blossom Handkerchief Set,’ which captures the image of fully bloomed cherry blossoms fluttering like a painting, along with the ‘Blossom Wood Folding Tray’ and ‘Blossom Wood Coaster,’ are packaged in pink nobang (Hanbok fabric) pouches, adding traditional beauty and collectible value.

Also introduced are the ‘Blossom Mug and Plate Set,’ made of luxurious pink ceramic material crafted with the beloved simple design of ‘Mujagi,’ and the ‘Blossom Dessert Fork Set,’ featuring cherry blossom-shaped handles engraved with the Siren logo, enhancing the completeness of the tableware.

This folk painting design cherry blossom product line is available as a limited edition at 295 Starbucks stores, including specialized areas for enjoying beautiful cherry blossoms, as well as on the online store. Customers can purchase up to two items per product, and store information is available on the Starbucks app and website.

Kim Beom-su, Starbucks’ marketing manager, said, “We released these products reinterpreting Korean folk paintings with cherry blossoms, hoping to bring warm and happy spring days,” adding, “We plan to introduce new Starbucks products through various collaborations with domestic artists in the future.”
