Yoon Young-jun, CEO of Hyundai Engineering & Construction, visited the fiercely competitive reconstruction site of Hanyang Apartment in Yeouido, Seoul, on the 13th.

After touring the site, CEO Yoon urged the on-site employees, "Under the goal of 'Super-gap Landmark Construction,' please ensure that Hyundai Engineering & Construction is chosen based on its unique and unparalleled capabilities." A Hyundai Engineering & Construction official explained, "The CEO's visit signifies that Yeouido Hanyang is a very core project in Hyundai Engineering & Construction's housing business."

Yeouido Hanyang Apartment was selected as a new city planning target by Seoul City in January last year. Through this, it will be reconstructed into an apartment complex with a floor area ratio of 600%, up to 56 floors, and a total of 992 households. Hyundai Engineering & Construction proposed the complex name for the Yeouido Hanyang Apartment reconstruction project as ‘The H Yeouido First.’

They collaborated with the global design group SMDP and the world’s top landscape design group SWA to enable views of the Han River. CEO Yoon emphasized, "Even if costs exceed the budget, we must adhere to the project proposal that maximizes the best quality and the development benefits promised to the owners."

The construction company for Yeouido Hanyang Apartment is scheduled to be decided on the 23rd. Currently, Hyundai Engineering & Construction and POSCO E&C are competing for the construction rights. CEO Yoon is an expert well-versed in the housing business.

In 2020, while serving as head of the housing business division, he played a decisive role in winning the contract by becoming a member of the union himself to gain the support of union members in the Hannam 3 District redevelopment project.
