The 'Busan Metropolitan City Digital Library,' operated by the library, has held over 15,000 types of owned digital books, including e-books and audiobooks, through steady acquisition of materials since its opening in 2020.

The 'Busan Metropolitan City Digital Library' offers not only digital books but also various online contents that are difficult to find in general public libraries.

Here, there is a wealth of diverse content for all generations to enjoy, including ▲poetry and audiobook content that can awaken citizens' literary sensitivity, ▲classical music, music, and dance content to cultivate artistic sensibility, ▲internet learning (e-learning) content related to language and information technology (IT), ▲academic databases (DB) for scholarly researchers, as well as ▲digital magazines and newspapers that provide up-to-date current affairs information from around the world.

Especially this year, with the addition of 'Kyobo Book Centre' to the existing subscription-based e-book platforms Aladin and BookCube, about 50,000 subscription-based e-books have been added, broadening the range of book choices for citizens.

Among a total of approximately 220,000 subscription-based e-books, users can select the books they want.

Those who want to receive recommendations for books in various fields can subscribe to the 'Weekly Book Talk' service to receive notifications with 10 books every week via alert messages. All content of the digital library is available free of charge to anyone who is a member of the Busan Metropolitan City Book Connection, accessible via PC or mobile.

Detailed usage instructions can be found on the city digital library website.

Kang Eun-hee, director of Busan Library, stated, “In April, we plan to collaborate with Busan Transportation Corporation to intensively promote the Busan City Digital Library as a ‘library in your hand on the urban railway.’ We will continue to make efforts as a metropolitan representative library to provide online content that fits the times and to create a reading environment that meets changes in the digital environment.”
