The main inspection targets include ▲the adequacy of safety management for passageways, fire facilities, and convenience facilities in multi-use facilities ▲compliance with construction safety rules (temporary scaffolding, fall prevention nets, etc.) ▲management status of citizen convenience facilities (safety railings, benches, canopies, etc.) ▲and other safety hazard factors.
Under the supervision of the Audit Office, the inspection will be divided into civil engineering, architecture, and operations sectors to discover safety improvements from the public’s perspective, with particularly thorough checks on passenger terminals and waterfront facilities freely accessible to citizens.
As a result of the safety inspection, issues requiring immediate action will be corrected on-site, and if serious risk factors are found, construction will be halted and safety inspections will be promptly conducted. In cases of repeated violations, strong measures will be taken against the relevant departments.
BPA President Kang Jun-seok stated, “We will conduct meticulous safety inspections that meet the public’s expectations to create a Busan Port where all users feel safe,” and added, “We will continue to do our best to eradicate corruption in the safety sector and promote a culture of safety.”
