In the Democratic Party, incumbent Min Hyung-bae, who won the three-person primary without a runoff on the 29th of last month, will run for Gwangsan in Gwangju.
He also said, "To save the Republic of Korea, the Yoon Seok-yeol administration must be replaced, but it is difficult with Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party," and added, "Can a party with moral issues, a party that only shields its members, and a party that aligns with forces calling for the abolition of the Korea-US alliance achieve regime change?" He emphasized, "The current Democratic Party has degenerated into a 'Gaeddal' (Daughters of Reform) party and a shield party that suppresses the spirit of Kim Dae-jung and Roh Moo-hyun," and stated, "I will revive the spirit of Kim Dae-jung, which has disappeared from Lee Jae-myung's Democratic Party, and make Gwangju and Honam proud again."
He continued, "To develop the economy, a great politician is needed, but judging from Lee Jae-myung Democratic Party's nominations, no great politician can emerge from Gwangju and Honam," and said, "I will sufficiently develop the Gwangsan area, the gateway to Gwangju in the KTX era." The co-representative proposed pledges including relocating the military airport, the second phase of the AI industry project, and support for Gwangju-Jeonnam cooperation.
