In Yohan, former Innovation Committee Chairman of the People Power Party, is reported to have applied for a proportional representation nomination in the general election through the People’s Future, a satellite party of the People Power Party, on the 9th.

According to party officials, former Chairman In submitted the application through a proxy in the afternoon of the same day.

Former Chairman In comes from a Honam native family that resisted Japanese colonial rule, has the image of a "blue-eyed Korean," and possesses public recognition gained through his activities in the Innovation Committee.

After the crushing defeat in the October 11 by-election for the Gangseo District Office in Seoul last year, former Chairman In led the party’s Innovation Committee, drawing attention by publicly demanding "sacrifices" from the leadership, the pro-Yoon (pro-Yoon Seok-yeol) faction, and senior party members.

Former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Won Hee-ryong, former People Power Party Innovation Committee Chairman In Yo-han, and former national soccer team player Lee Cheon-soo, who is the sponsor chairman for former Minister Won, took a commemorative photo with citizens near Incheon Gyesan Post Office on the 26th of last month during the 22nd National Assembly election in Incheon Gyeyang (Eul) district.

Since Lee Cheol-gyu, a member of the People Power Party’s Nomination Management Committee, revealed that he personally requested former Chairman In to apply for the proportional representation, it is widely expected that he will be placed within the winning ranks.

A party official explained, "Former Chairman In aligns with the direction of prioritizing candidates from Honam in this proportional representation nomination."

Additionally, it is known that the People Power Party is also considering appointing former Chairman In as the election countermeasures committee chairman for People’s Future.

Earlier, Han Dong-hoon, the emergency response committee chairman, met with reporters the previous day and said about former Chairman In, "I think he comes from a prestigious family in Honam, and looking at his activities in the independence movement, missionary work, and post-Korean War efforts, he is a respectable person. Considering his past activities for our party, he has many strengths."

Meanwhile, former Chairman In attended the opening ceremonies of the election offices for People Power Party preliminary candidates Kim Kyung-jin (Seoul Dongdaemun-eul) and Oh Shin-hwan (Seoul Gwangjin-eul) on the same day to provide support. Both candidates worked alongside former Chairman In as Innovation Committee members.
