In Jeonju City, Jeollabuk-do, the cries of resistance against Japanese colonial rule, shouting "Long live Korean independence" 105 years ago, were revived.
On the 9th, the Jeonju Branch of the Liberation Association held a send-off ceremony for the "Jeonju March 13 Manse Movement Reenactment Event" at 10 a.m. at Jeonju Shinhung High School to inherit the spirit of the independence movement of the passionate patriots from 105 years ago and to reflect on the historical significance of the Manse Movement.

The reenactment event was led by a large Taegeukgi flag and included participants ranging from kindergarteners to youth groups, organizations, and general citizens. Each person held a Taegeukgi flag and shouted "Long live Korean independence" from Shinhung High School to Pungnammun Square, recreating the passionate cries and waves of Taegeukgi from that day.
After the Manse procession arrived at Pungnammun Square, descendants of patriotic martyrs, citizens, and student representatives read the Declaration of Independence. The Hwanggeum Art Troupe performed a fan dance, and poet Choi Seok-yong recited Han Seok-san’s poem "My Homeland." The event, attended by over 500 people including citizens and tourists, deeply resonated with love for the country.
The Creative Drama Association and students from Shinhung High School and Gijeon Girls' High School presented a moving stage performance honoring the patriotic martyrs who sacrificed for independence. The event concluded with kindergarteners from Elephant Kindergarten singing the March 1st Movement song and chanting the three cheers of Manse.
Lee Gyo-geon, president of the Jeonju Branch of the Liberation Association, said, "This was a precious time to deeply reflect on the noble spirit of sacrifice of our patriots and to remember our proud history. I hope it became a festival that instilled a sound historical consciousness and identity in the youth and a sense of national pride among citizens."
