These textbooks will be distributed to 26 institutions, including elementary, middle, and high schools as well as out-of-school youth organizations within the district, and will be utilized for essential information ethics education required in the digital world.

To strengthen information ethics, which are essential in a digital world communicating through diverse information and advanced technologies, the Busan Office of Education appointed six development committee members, including teacher Kim Jae-woo from Samjeong High School, in October last year and began developing the textbooks.

The textbooks are composed of content and activities appropriate to each school level, considering students' developmental stages.

The elementary school textbook consists of Wise Information Ethics Life, Prudent Information Ethics Life, and Future Society and Information Ethics Life. The middle school textbook includes topics such as Problems and Solutions in the Information Society, Future Society and Information Ethics, and Information Ethics Everyone Must Follow.

The high school textbook is structured into Looking into the Information World, Enjoying Information Wisely, and Wisely Navigating the New Technology Information World. Notably, all textbooks for elementary, middle, and high schools are designed to help students view both the positive and negative aspects of digital technology in a balanced way.

The Busan Office of Education expects these textbooks to play a significant role in helping students recognize problem situations themselves and find solutions through exemplary cases of desirable information use across digital life and education.

Teacher training for the use of the textbooks in classes will be held in April. Developers of the textbooks and officials from the Busan Police Agency will serve as instructors to teach various ways to utilize the textbooks.

Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of the Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, stated, “These textbooks will not only provide useful information for students' proper digital life but also greatly help prevent the adverse effects of informatization and foster a healthy information culture. Moving forward, our office will continue to do its best to cultivate students' sound digital competencies through practical information ethics education.”
