KB Kookmin Bank Recommends Kim Sung-jin and Lee Jung-sook as New Outside Director Candidates

The KB Kookmin Bank Outside Director Candidate Recommendation Committee (ODCRC) announced on the 7th that it has recommended two new outside directors and three reappointed outside directors as candidates for outside directors. The recommended candidates are scheduled to be officially appointed as outside directors of KB Kookmin Bank after a vote at the regular shareholders' meeting to be held on the 21st.

The final candidates for the new outside directors with a two-year term are Kim Sung-jin, Advisor at Mirae Asset Global Investments, and Lee Jung-sook, former Standing Mediator at the Seoul Eastern District Court Mediation Center. The existing outside directors Yoo Yong-geun, Seo Tae-jong, and Moon Soo-bok were recommended as candidates for reappointment with a one-year term.

Candidate Kim Sung-jin is a financial and economic expert with a high level of understanding of the domestic and international financial industries, having served as Executive Director, Deputy CEO, and CEO of the Bond Management Division at Mirae Asset Global Investments, and currently serving as an Advisor at Mirae Asset Global Investments.

Lee Jeong-sook, Former Standing Mediator at Seoul Eastern District Court Mediation Center

Candidate Lee Jung-sook is an expert in the legal and regulatory fields, having served as Head of the Legal Department (Managing Director) and Head of Compliance (Compliance Officer) at Samsung Securities, and later as a Standing Mediator at the Seoul Court Mediation Center and the Seoul Eastern District Court Mediation Center.

A KB Kookmin Bank ODCRC official explained, "To respond to the challenging market environment characterized by high inflation, high interest rates, and high exchange rates, we selected candidate Kim Sung-jin, who possesses deep understanding and excellent capabilities in domestic and international capital markets, as a new outside director candidate in the fields of finance, management, and economics." He added, "To strengthen the increasingly important internal control system of financial companies and enhance consumer protection, we selected candidate Lee Jung-sook, who has extensive experience in corporate ethics and internal control, as a legal and regulatory outside director candidate."
