Dongseo University, Sasang District Office, Gyeongnam Information University, Busan Digital University, Urban Regeneration Project and Community Support... Agreement to Solve Local Social Issues

Dongseo University, Sasang District Office, Gyeongnam Information University, and Busan Digital University signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the successful promotion of urban regeneration projects at 11 a.m. on the 6th in the Global Room on the 11th floor of the New Millennium Hall at Dongseo University.

Key attendees at the event included Jang Je-guk, President of Dongseo University; Cho Dae-su, Director of Planning and Research; Hwang Ki-hyun, Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation; Kwon Kyung-su, Deputy Director of Industry-Academic Cooperation; Kim Su-hwa, Professor of Visual Design; Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang District; Gu Mi-jung, Director of Urban Regeneration; Kim Tae-sang, President of Gyeongnam Information University; Shim Jae-hyung, Director of Planning; Lee Sung-wook, Director of Academic Affairs; Choi Won-il, President of Busan Digital University; and Song Jong-won, Director of Admissions and Public Relations, among other key officials.

Through this agreement, the institutions plan to establish a framework for cooperation aimed at the successful implementation of projects and regional development based on mutual collaboration, including ▲ exploring development plans through mutual cooperation in establishing the urban regeneration activation plan for Jure-dong ▲ cooperating on all matters related to supporting urban regeneration projects promoted by Sasang District and resolving community issues through support for resident communities ▲ exchanging technical information, academic exchanges, and joint research for university and regional development ▲ jointly utilizing research facilities and equipment owned by cooperating institutions, and promoting human and material exchanges.

Jo Byung-gil, Mayor of Sasang District, stated, “This agreement will not only be a driving force to increase the success potential of Sasang District’s urban regeneration projects but also a great opportunity to promote university and regional development. I hope it becomes a model case of win-win cooperation between government and academia.”

Jang Je-guk, President of Dongseo University, said, “I hope this agreement will greatly contribute to regional development by enabling practical cooperation in various fields through the government-academia linkage among Sasang District and the three universities under Dongseo Academy.”
