The Guinness World Records announced on the 4th (local time) that Donald Gorske (70), a resident of Wisconsin, USA, consumed 728 Big Macs over the past year, reaching a cumulative total of 34,128. This means Gorske ate at least two Big Macs per day.

Gorske keeps all the wrappers and receipts of the Big Macs he has eaten. He began counting the number of Big Macs he ate on May 17, 1972, which was 52 years ago. He said, "The moment I took a bite of my first Big Mac, I was certain I would eat this hamburger for the rest of my life," and "So I started keeping records from the very first day I ate a Big Mac until now."

However, Gorske only started officially tracking his consumption for the Guinness record 27 years later, in 1999. Meanwhile, his eating habits have changed as he aged. In the past, he ate nine hamburgers a day, but recently he only eats two.

He also occasionally tries new hamburgers. Gorske tried Burger King's Whopper in 1984 but eventually returned to the Big Mac. He said, "Whenever people see me eating a Big Mac, they say I look like someone eating a hamburger for the first time," and "When I like something, I tend to focus only on that."

Gorske is currently known to be in very good health. Although he eats only fast food every day, he does not have any external physical problems such as obesity. Instead, he avoids eating French fries to reduce calorie intake. He proudly said, "People thought I would die young because I only eat hamburgers, but instead, I am still alive and even hold a Guinness World Record."

Franchise hamburgers vary in calories depending on the type, but they are actually known as a 'nutritional meal' with a balanced distribution of carbohydrates, fats, and proteins. Fiber can also be consumed through vegetables like lettuce. However, caution is needed regarding the sugar and sodium added in the sauces, and it is better to avoid side menus like French fries or cola. According to McDonald's disclosed calorie information, a Big Mac contains 590 kcal, and French fries contain 300 kcal.
