Dongjak-gu (Mayor Park Il-ha) announced on the 8th that it will conduct a "Spring Cleaning of Kkachisan Park" as a proactive environmental maintenance effort to create the premium Kkachisan Trail.
Under the slogan "Our Neighborhood Cleaning, By Our Hands!", about 150 participants including local residents, district office officials, university students, and volunteers will voluntarily join to lead the creation of a pleasant natural environment.
The cleaning will take place on the 8th from 1 PM to 6 PM around Kkachisan Park (49 Sadang-ro 16ja-gil).
They plan to remove hazardous elements such as abandoned dead trees that have been neglected for years near the main walking paths, collect accumulated fallen leaves and various trash to create clean hiking trails, and prevent forest fires and landslides in advance.
Every year, the district has designated a "Spring Cleaning Week" during which all 15 neighborhoods conduct simultaneous local cleanups, but this year, in line with the "Creation of the Premium Kkachisan Trail," cleaning in this area will be conducted earlier.
The "Spring Cleaning Week" is scheduled from the 18th to the 29th as part of Dongjak-gu's thawing season measures, during which environmental maintenance will be carried out in vulnerable cleaning areas by neighborhood, and campaigns for residents' voluntary cleaning will be promoted.
Kkachisan Park is set to be reborn as a premium trail offering health and healing to visitors, with the opening of a Hanok cafe in April, along with the creation of a barefoot clay path and flower garden.
The Hanok cafe will be built with a total floor area of 125.75㎡ (about 38 pyeong) and two above-ground floors; the first floor will serve as a cafe, and the second floor will be open as both a cafe and a community resting place.
Park Il-ha, Mayor of Dongjak-gu, said, "I hope all residents actively participate in improving the environment of Kkachisan Park for the birth of the premium trail," and added, "Dongjak-gu will do its best to ensure residents can enjoy a pleasant environment."
