This support project is designed to assist Busan SMEs wishing to enter the Chinese consumer goods market by supporting marketing through simultaneous use of online and offline channels such as entry into China's largest e-commerce platforms, social networking service (SNS) live broadcasts, and participation in exhibitions.

It was newly established to support the market development of consumer goods manufactured by SMEs in Busan within the inland consumer goods market of Western China.

First, participating companies will be supported to promote and sell local products on online platforms with many Chinese users, such as Xiaohongshu, Taobao, Pinduoduo, and Wanghong live broadcasts.

Popular items verified on online malls will also be supplied to local convenience stores and large supermarkets to expand sales channels, and promotional events will be held focusing on key commercial districts in downtown Chongqing, located in Western China, maximizing opportunities to connect with local consumers.

Additionally, an integrated Korean pavilion will be operated at the 'Western China International Investment and Trade Expo (May)' and the 'Chongqing International Consumer Goods Expo (October)' held in Chongqing to promote participating companies' products and help discover buyers.

In particular, support will be provided for 10 participating companies to hold export consultation meetings locally in China between August and September, offering export opportunities to local SMEs struggling to enter the Chinese market.

Since this support project is jointly promoted in collaboration with the Small and Medium Business Corporation, which has a branch office in Chongqing, China, it is expected to achieve low-cost and high-efficiency marketing effects by utilizing various distribution networks secured by the corporation.

Companies wishing to participate must submit an application form and essential documents for selection evaluation through the city's overseas marketing integrated system by March 8.

After local market evaluation, 10 local consumer goods manufacturers will be selected.

Shin Chang-ho, Director of the Digital Economy Innovation Office of Busan City, said, “Last year, the export growth rates of Busan's consumer goods categories such as cosmetics and processed food products to China recorded 225% and 20%, respectively, proving that Busan's consumer goods are promising export items to China.” He added, “Through this support project, our city will actively support Busan's consumer goods manufacturing SMEs to stably develop sales channels in China, and in the future, we plan to support market development in China for the shipbuilding equipment sector, where Busan has a technological advantage.”
