Seol Hoon, a five-term lawmaker who left the Democratic Party, announced on the 2nd that he will run as an independent candidate in his constituency, Bucheon-e, Gyeonggi Province.

원본보기 아이콘Seol plans to register as a preliminary candidate as an independent but is expected to join New Future, a group mainly composed of Democratic Party defectors, later on.
Seol, who is part of the anti-Lee Jae-myung faction, revealed on the 23rd of last month that he was ranked in the bottom 10% in the current legislative activity evaluation, expressing his opposition.
At a National Assembly press conference on the 28th of last month, he declared his departure, stating, "The Democratic Party is no longer a public party but has transformed into a totalitarian factional party under the control of Leader Lee Jae-myung."
