The People Power Party's Nomination Management Committee announced the results of the primary and nomination review on the 2nd at the Yeouido party headquarters.
Seo Ji-young, former head of the Central Party Secretariat (Busan Dongnae), lawyer Do Tae-woo (Daegu Jung·Nam-gu), and Lee Sang-hwi, former Chunchoogwan of the Presidential Office (Pohang Nam·Ulleung, Gyeongbuk), won the second round of primaries.
Kim Young-seon initially applied for nomination in Changwon Uichang, Gyeongnam, but declared that she would move to Gimhae Gap; however, she was excluded from the list of primary candidates for both districts announced that day.
The Changwon Uichang primary will be held as a head-to-head contest between Kim Jong-yang, former chief of the Gyeongnam Police Agency, and Bae Cheol-soon, former administrative officer of the Presidential Office.
In Gimhae Gap, a three-way primary will be held among Kwon Tong-il, former policy advisor to the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Education, former lawmaker Kim Jeong-gwon, and Park Seong-ho, former vice governor of Gyeongnam Province.
In Goyang Jeong, Gyeonggi Province, the cancellation of the sole nomination of former lawmaker Kim Hyun-ah was confirmed. Former three-term lawmaker Kim Yong-tae received a priority recommendation (strategic nomination) for this district.
In the redistricted Gyeongbuk Uiseong·Cheongsong·Yeongdeok·Uljin, former lawmaker Kim Jae-won and lawmaker Park Hyung-soo will compete in the primary.
In Gyeongbuk Yeongju·Yeongyang·Bonghwa, which was Park's district, former second deputy director of the National Security Office of the Presidential Office Lim Jong-deuk received a sole nomination.
Additionally, in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province, where the number of districts increased from two to three, proportional representative lawmaker Han Mu-kyung (Gap) and party policy committee chairman Yoo Ui-dong (Byeong) received sole nominations.
In Sokcho·Inje·Goseong·Yangyang, Gangwon Province, party floor deputy leader Lee Yang-su received a sole nomination.
