Democratic Party Nominates Jang Jong-tae for Daejeon Seo-gu Gap and An Tae-jun for Gyeonggi Gwangju Eul

Jang Jong-tae, former mayor of Seo-gu, Daejeon, has been confirmed as the Democratic Party candidate for the 4.10 general election in the Seo-gu Gap district of Daejeon. In the Gwangju-eul district of Gyeonggi Province, Ahn Tae-jun, former vice president of Gyeonggi Housing and Urban Corporation, has been confirmed as the candidate.


The Democratic Party Central Election Commission announced the primary results on the 1st at the Yeouido party headquarters.


In Seo-gu Gap, Daejeon, the district of former National Assembly Speaker Park Byeong-seok who declared he would not run, a primary was held among former Seo-gu mayor Jang, former National Assembly Speaker policy chief Lee Yong-su, and Lee Ji-hye, special committee chair for balanced development of Daejeon at the Daejeon City Party.


In Gwangju-eul, Gyeonggi Province, which became a strategic district after former lawmaker Lim Jong-sung decided not to run, a 100% public primary was held among former vice president Ahn, former mayor of Gwangju Shin Dong-heon, and former Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly member Park Deok-dong. This confirmed the final matchup in Gwangju-eul between Hwang Myeong-ju, former party committee chair of the People Power Party, and former vice president Ahn.
