KT&G announced on the 27th that the next-generation leader council, ‘Sangsang Junior Board,’ held a session to directly offer management suggestions to the executive team, including Senior Vice President and next president candidate Bang Kyung-man.
The meeting was conducted in the form of a presentation on organizational culture innovation by the Sangsang Junior Board and a Q&A session on-site. In particular, active ideas were proposed regarding the ‘flexibilization of working methods’ such as childbirth, childcare, and work-life balance, as well as ways to spread a culture of ‘Diversity and Inclusion (D&I)’ within the organization.

Joo Jung-guk, chairman of the 3rd term of the Sangsang Junior Board, said, “I used to think that organizational culture innovation was a distant and difficult task, but through direct communication with the management, I felt that our voices could become a reality. We will continue to pay attention to organizational culture and strive to contribute to creating a culture where diverse values and ways of thinking of members are respected.”
Meanwhile, KT&G reorganized the existing organizational culture improvement body, the ‘Sangsang Realization Committee,’ in May 2021 and launched the 1st term of the Sangsang Junior Board centered on members in their 20s and 30s. Representing the younger generation, the ‘Sangsang Junior Board’ communicates with management and contributes to building a horizontal organizational culture. As a result of efforts to establish a global-level advanced organizational culture, KT&G was selected as an ‘Excellent Company for Work-Life Balance Practice in 2020’ and a ‘Top Job Company in Korea in 2021’ by the Ministry of Employment and Labor, and has continuously been re-certified since first receiving the ‘Family-Friendly Company Certification’ from the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in 2015.
