Seoul City Partners with Hyundai Livart and Korea Habitat to Repair Homes for Vulnerable Households

Promotion of Home Repairs for 32 Households This Year
Target Completion in the First Half of the Year

Seoul City is launching support for home repairs for housing-vulnerable households through public-private cooperation.

On the 27th, the city announced that it will sign a business agreement with Hyundai Livart and Korea Habitat at Seoul City Hall to promote the ‘Public-Private Cooperation Housing Environment Improvement Project for Housing-Vulnerable Groups.’ The signing ceremony will be attended by Yoo Chang-soo, Seoul City Deputy Mayor for Administration, Kwon Tae-jin, Head of Sales Division at Hyundai Livart, and Lee Yong-cheol, Head of Korea Habitat.

Through this agreement, a home repair support project will be carried out for 32 housing-vulnerable households living in semi-basements and similar conditions. Construction is scheduled to begin next month, with completion targeted for the first half of this year.

Hyundai Livart will provide in-kind contributions worth approximately 100 million KRW for repairs and replacements of bathrooms, kitchen furniture (sinks), and LED lighting, and will take charge of direct construction. Korea Habitat will oversee the overall project implementation, managing customized construction that reflects the characteristics of vulnerable groups such as the elderly and disabled, based on their extensive construction experience.

Since 2022, the city has been implementing a customized home repair support project for housing-vulnerable households in cooperation with Korea Habitat and others. This year, Hyundai Livart has newly joined as a housing safety companion partner.

Deputy Mayor Yoo expressed gratitude to Hyundai Livart and Korea Habitat for participating in the housing environment improvement project for housing-vulnerable households, and said, “We hope more companion partners will join in the future.” He added, “We will continue to strive to eliminate blind spots in housing welfare and persistently promote companionship with housing-disadvantaged groups.”
