"Pungun-a" Yang Yong-eun ranked in the "Top 3".
On the 24th (local time), at the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam (Par 73, 7,349 yards) in Rabat, Morocco, during the final 3rd round of the PGA Champions (Senior) Tour Trophy Hassan (total prize money $2 million), Yang Yong-eun exchanged 2 birdies for 2 bogeys. Yang Yong-eun finished the tournament tied for 3rd place (7-under-par 212) along with Mark Hensby (Australia).
Yang Yong-eun has been competing on the Champions Tour, which is for players aged 50 and over, since 2022. He recorded one runner-up finish in his debut year. Although he shared the lead through the first two rounds and aimed for his first Champions Tour victory, he was unable to lower his score on the final day.
Ricardo Gonzalez (Argentina) shot 3-under-par to secure a one-stroke victory (10-under-par 209). He earned his first Champions Tour win and received a prize of $320,000 (approximately 420 million KRW). Thomas Bjorn (Denmark) surged with a 4-under-par round to finish 2nd (9-under-par 210). K.J. Choi tied for 13th place (1-under-par 218), and Wi Chang-su tied for 38th place (5-over-par 224).
