Jang Cheol-min, the incumbent member of the Democratic Party of Korea, has been selected as the candidate for the Daejeon Dong-gu electoral district.
On the 23rd, Jang secured the nomination by receiving more than half of the votes in the Daejeon Dong-gu primary.
The Democratic Party of Korea Central Election Commission announced the results of the first re-examination primary vote count at the Democratic Party headquarters in Yeouido, Seoul, on the same day.
Jang ranked first, surpassing former Dong-gu Mayor Hwang In-ho and lawyer Jeong Gyeong-su, whose re-examination requests were accepted.
