Jeon Seung-il, Gwangju Seo-gu Council Member, Wins Local Legislative Award for 2 Consecutive Years

Jeon Seung-il, a member of the Gwangju Seo-gu Council, received the Encouragement Award in the Basic Council category at the "2024 Local Assembly Awards" on the 23rd.

The 2024 Local Assembly Awards (hosted by Legal Journal, sponsored by the Korea Council of Local Government Chairpersons) were held to select outstanding local council members who contributed to local autonomy development, improved the quality of life of local residents, and promoted regional development through communication with residents, aiming to realize "working local politicians" and "foster pride among local workers."

The evaluation criteria included various legislative activities of local council members such as ▲standing committee inquiries ▲5-minute free speeches ▲district administration questions ▲enactment and revision of ordinances ▲communication skills with residents ▲distribution of press releases.

Councilor Jeon said, "I only did what a council member should do, but I am pleased to receive the Local Assembly Award for two consecutive years, following the Excellence Award in 2023 and now the 2024 Local Assembly Award," adding, "I will take this as encouragement to work harder and repay with more helpful legislative activities for the convenience and welfare improvement of local residents."
