National Mokpo University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 21st that it held a joint camp called the "Regional Problem-Solving Project" for two days from the 19th to the 20th at Ramada Plaza Hotel & Sea One Resort on Jaeundo Island, in collaboration with Mokpo Science University, to promote employment and entrepreneurship among universities.
This camp was held with the purpose of recognizing the population dead cross phenomenon caused by low birth rates and aging, and discovering youth employment and entrepreneurship ideas to address population decline and regional issues.

The trainees of this camp conceived and presented regional problem-solving ideas based on various experiences. Among them, Team 3, which presented the idea for revitalizing local employment through the Mokpo City Youth × Small Business Employment Connection App "Ilhago JOBs," received the Encouragement Award.
Additionally, Team 5, which presented the low birth rate solution idea for the Senior and Junior Childcare Culture Center "Seniorang Juniorang," received the Excellence Award, and Team 6, which presented the project to establish a new landmark, Bipan Village, using vacant houses in Mokpo City, won the Grand Prize.
Other ideas for solving regional problems were also showcased, including "Revitalization of Cultural Streets in the Old Downtown Area," "Stamp Tour Free Rental Business Model," and "Car Camping Tour Mokha Station."
Student Jeong Seong-sung (3rd year, Department of Finance and Insurance, National Mokpo University), who participated in the camp, said, "At first, it was awkward, but thanks to the fun programs, I was able to quickly become close with new friends. Living in Mokpo, I had never thought about the problems of our region, but through this camp, I feel I have come to know Mokpo from a new perspective." He added, "The special lectures were engaging due to comparative analysis of various cases, and the process of concretizing ideas with team members was enjoyable."
Professor Cha Joo-hwan, Director of Planning at National Mokpo University, who planned the event, stated, "National Mokpo University will continue to collaborate with universities in the region to operate programs where students directly discover and solve community problems, strengthening support for the mutual development of universities and local communities."
