Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, is reported to be visiting South Korea at the end of this month.
Officials from the Presidential Office and the government stated on the 21st that CEO Zuckerberg is planning a visit to South Korea later this month.
It is known that CEO Zuckerberg is coordinating a schedule to meet President Yoon Suk-yeol during his visit. The Presidential Office is positively considering the request from Meta.
This will be CEO Zuckerberg's first visit to South Korea in about 10 years since June 2013. At that time, he visited for a 2-day, 1-night trip and met then-President Park Geun-hye and Samsung Electronics Vice Chairman Lee Jae-yong.
Industry insiders suggest that during this visit, CEO Zuckerberg may also meet with Vice Chairman Lee to discuss collaboration related to artificial intelligence (AI) semiconductors.
