Sodubang Park is a representative forest-type park in Jeonggwan-eup, featuring sports facilities such as soccer fields, children's playgrounds, as well as convenience facilities including parking lots, restrooms, and rest areas. The well-maintained walking trails make it a highly frequented park by residents.

Accordingly, the county promoted the installation of a nature-friendly playground under the reservoir at Sodubang Park starting from March last year as part of the major campaign pledge of the 8th local government administration to expand comprehensive nature-friendly children's playground facilities, completing it in February this year.

The newly created nature-friendly playground was planned as a three-dimensional content combining play and education, linked with nearby childcare support centers, Jeonggwan Library, and Jeonggwan Museum educational facilities. The playground is composed of three single-level spaces: ▲Forest Learning Yard ▲Forest Sensory Play Yard ▲Forest Adventure Play Yard, allowing natural spatial movement through slides and sloped playgrounds.

Additionally, according to the concept of each yard, features such as log crossing, forest huts, forest tree crossing, climbing and passing play equipment, forest Indian houses, hammocks, waterfall play equipment, and picnic areas were arranged. The ground was paved with wood chips and grass to create a nature-friendly facility where children can joyfully run and play.

In particular, the county prioritized user safety by completing safety certification and installation inspections for the playground equipment, creating a safe play space where children can freely enjoy themselves. For residents who enjoy barefoot walking nearby, foot washing stations and dust removers were installed to support the healthy lives of residents.

Jeong Jong-bok, the county governor, stated, “A nature-friendly space where children can safely and freely run and play around their living area has been created. We will continue to expand facilities so that children can cultivate healthy emotions and grow strong.” He added, “We will link this year’s barefoot walking trail project within the park with the playground facilities to develop Sodubang Park into an eco-friendly health education park that everyone, regardless of age or gender, can enjoy.”
