In an interview with MBC the previous day, Kim stated, "The title reflects my struggle with the question of whether it is fortunate that I survived, or if perhaps I should have died." She reportedly met with nearly 100 crime victims and their families, considering ways to support and provide relief for victims.

Previously, Kim established the Naver online community "Korea Crime Victims Community" to support victims. Victims of violent crimes and ordinary citizens can report incidents, collect petition signatures, and share information about support systems for crime victims. She also launched a YouTube channel called "Save the Victims," where she uploads videos explaining legal terminology and ways to respond to crime as a victim.

Kim expressed, "I hope society can become more victim-centered," and added, "Even if the law cannot always take the victim's side, shouldn't people at least support the victim? I think about that a lot."

The Busan Spinning Kick Incident occurred on May 22, 2022, in Seomyeon, Busan, when a man in his 30s, identified as Lee, followed Kim, who was returning home in the early morning, and knocked her down with a kick at the entrance of her apartment building. He then sexually assaulted her and attempted to murder her in a CCTV blind spot. Lee was sentenced to 20 years in prison by the Supreme Court for attempted rape and murder and is currently serving his sentence. He is also facing trial for sending threatening letters to his ex-girlfriend and making retaliatory threats against Kim.
