"Ukrainian Military Withdraws from Strategic Point Audiivka"

Major foreign media reported on the 17th (local time) that the Ukrainian military withdrew from the eastern strategic point of Avdiivka.

According to the reports, Lieutenant General Oleksandr Tarnavskyi, commander of the Ukrainian Southeastern Tauria Operational Strategic Group, stated through social media (SNS) on the morning of the same day, "Based on the operational situation around Avdiivka, to avoid encirclement and protect the lives and health of our soldiers, we decided to withdraw the unit from this city and defend from a more advantageous frontline."

Avdiivka, located in Donetsk Oblast in eastern Ukraine, is a strategic point close to the Russian-controlled areas of Donetsk and has been a frequent site of clashes since the early days of the conflict.

The Russian military has concentrated forces here over the past several months and recently launched an encirclement attack. As Russia's offensive intensifies, concerns are rising that Avdiivka could fall to Russia like the "second Bakhmut."
