Professor Lee Hyun-kyu of the Department of Digital Finance at Pukyong National University has been appointed as the inaugural president of the Korea Digital Finance Promotion Agency.
On the afternoon of the 15th, the Korea Digital Finance Promotion Agency held its inaugural meeting at the Dongwon Jangbogogwan of Pukyong National University and appointed Professor Lee Hyun-kyu as its first president.
The Korea Digital Finance Promotion Agency held the inaugural meeting with experts in the digital finance field, including university professors and company representatives, and announced the establishment of a non-profit and public interest corporation.
The Korea Digital Finance Promotion Agency is a purely private organization dedicated to promoting and developing the digital finance industry in South Korea. It aims to secure a stable growth foundation by sharing, disseminating, and advancing all intellectual assets related to the digital finance industry to contribute to the nation and society.
Professor Lee Hyun-kyu, appointed as the inaugural president, stated, “We will focus on policy research necessary for the development of the digital finance industry, analysis and research of industry trends, and fostering experts and support projects to create a healthy digital finance ecosystem. The Promotion Agency will strive to lead the advancement of the digital finance industry.” He added, “Starting with this inaugural meeting, we will work hard to ensure that the Promotion Agency grows into a core consultative body leading the digital finance industry based on industry-academia cooperation representing Busan.”
Kim Hee-woong, president of the Korea Society of Management Information Systems and a professor at Yonsei University, who attended as a founding member, emphasized, “It is an urgent task to integrate and utilize diverse knowledge and know-how related to digital finance, as well as conduct related policy research, ecosystem creation, and foster digital finance experts.” Park Myung-geun, executive director of the Marketing Office at ITCEN Group, conveyed in his congratulatory remarks, “We expect the Promotion Agency to provide the latest information on digital-related industries, high-quality human resources, and educational content, and to offer insightful analysis and policy proposals for the digital finance industry, thereby presenting new directions to the related sectors.”
