On the same day, Chairman Han met with Lee Guk-jong, Director of the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital, and others to receive reports on current issues and to comfort the soldiers.
He said, "I truly believe that we need to provide much better treatment to those who have fallen ill or been injured while fulfilling their military duties," adding, "That reflects our country's identity, and in that regard, I think we will do more of what we can."
Regarding Director Lee, a leading authority in trauma treatment in Korea, serving as the director of the Armed Forces Daejeon Hospital, Chairman Han said, "I understand that he came with the intention of dedicating his passion and experience to improving the military medical system," and added, "Since Director Lee's arrival, I expect noticeable progress and advancement to the next level, and I have no doubt about it." He also expressed his willingness to support, saying, "If we think together about exactly what needs to be done, I will join in."
