LX Hausys is targeting the domestic and international furniture board market.
On the 15th, LX Hausys announced the launch of a new furniture board product, ‘LX Z:IN (LX Jiin) Board Borte’.
Furniture boards are products made by attaching film to MDF (Medium Density Fiberboard) and are used for kitchen and living room furniture doors. Until now, furniture manufacturers have produced furniture by separately attaching film to MDF, but recently, as board-type products that can reduce production time have become more preferred, LX Hausys has introduced this new board product.
‘Borte’ is a premium furniture board product made by attaching PET (Polyethylene Terephthalate) film to MDF made from domestically sourced Korean pine wood, characterized by excellent durability and eco-friendliness.
‘Borte’ features PET film with LX Hausys’s unique SMR (Supermatt Resist) coating technology applied to MDF, creating a low-gloss surface texture that looks like painted wood. It is also resistant to scratches and everyday stains, and does not show fingerprints.
In fact, the PET film applied to ‘Borte’ received certification from the Italian accredited testing agency CATAS, meeting European standards (EN) in two categories: scratch resistance and stain resistance, confirming its performance. Additionally, ‘Borte’ uses MDF made from domestically sourced Korean pine wood that has obtained an excellent grade (E0) for low emissions of harmful substances, enhancing its eco-friendliness.
An LX Hausys official stated, “‘Borte’ is a premium product that secures superior durability and eco-friendliness compared to existing furniture films and boards by utilizing LX Hausys’s accumulated film processing technology, as well as offering differentiated design. We plan to increase supply to domestic and international furniture manufacturers along with furniture films in the future.”
