The Progressive Party Gwangju Metropolitan City Branch announced the '5 Major Pledges to Eliminate Inequality' and the '3 Major Policies for Asset Equality' ahead of the 22nd general election.
On the 13th, the Progressive Party Gwangju Branch held a press conference at the party office under the slogan "Political Revolution of the Republic of Korea."
The first to present, Kim Joo-eop, candidate for the National Assembly in Buk-gu Gap, stated, "The 22nd general election should be a turning point to secure 200 seats through the total unity of democratic reform forces, moving beyond the impeachment of Yoon's prosecutorial dictatorship to constitutional amendment, and to build a new Republic of Korea."
He also expressed his aspiration, saying, "The choice of Honam has always been the choice of Korea. Please restore the Gwangju election where the main election disappeared," and "The Progressive Party will work with even one seat like Assemblyman Kang Seong-hee's 100 seats."
Yoon Min-ho, candidate for the National Assembly in Buk-gu Eul, diagnosed that the root cause of inequality in the Republic of Korea is asset inequality, and now the problem can only be solved through asset redistribution rather than welfare.
As the '5 Major Pledges to Eliminate Inequality,' they proposed ▲ a house as a wedding gift upon marriage ▲ monthly child-rearing support of 1 million won ▲ youth independence fund of 100 million won as basic assets at age 20 ▲ introduction of a 3-day weekend and a 4-day workweek without wage cuts ▲ senior happiness support of 1 million won per month.
Additionally, as a funding plan to realize these policies, they proposed the '3 Major Policies for Asset Equality': ▲ wealth tax on the top 0.1% ultra-wealthy ▲ windfall tax ▲ strengthened inheritance tax.
Kim Hae-jung, candidate for the National Assembly in Seo-gu Eul, proposed as representative pledges for new changes in Gwangju ▲ establishment of a Gwangju-type (regional) public bank ▲ creation of the Green Road Circuit Park, and introduced representative pledges of Progressive Party candidates running in each constituency.
Finally, Jang Won-seop, special committee chairman for the 22nd general election of the Progressive Party Gwangju Branch, appealed, "I believe that the citizens of Gwangju will fire the starting signal for the political revolution of the Republic of Korea in the general election," and "Please support the Progressive Party, the party that can fight best against Yoon Seok-yeol."
The Progressive Party Gwangju Branch plans to start with a presentation of the representative pledges and hold press conferences announcing major pledges by candidates in each constituency until the end of this month, striving to fulfill its original role as a progressive party that opens a new future.
