Automatic Report via Collision Detection After Accident... 40s Found Hit on Opposite Lane

On the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday, a driver who was thrown into the opposite lane after a collision on a road in Jinju-si, Gyeongnam, was fatally struck by three consecutive vehicles.

According to the Jinju Police Station and Gyeongnam Fire Headquarters on the 13th, a woman in her 40s was found dead around 6:15 a.m. on the 12th on a car-only road in Ihyeon-dong, Jinju-si.

According to the police, after receiving a report through the collision detection function on the vehicle owner's mobile phone, police and firefighters dispatched to the scene confirmed a passenger car with a damaged front bumper. Upon confirming that the driver was not inside the vehicle, the police searched the surroundings and found Ms. A collapsed in the opposite lane.

Firefighters quickly checked Ms. A, but she was already without breath and pulse. The police began investigating the accident using Ms. A's vehicle black box and nearby CCTV footage.

Police investigation revealed that Ms. A was involved in a single-vehicle accident, crashing into a guardrail and central divider, was thrown from the vehicle, and collapsed in the opposite lane, where three vehicles traveling in that lane consecutively struck her.

The police plan to investigate the cause of Ms. A's accident while also booking and questioning the drivers of the three vehicles involved in the secondary collisions.
