At 8:20 PM on the 12th (Korean time), a magnitude 6.3 earthquake occurred in the sea area 1490 km south-southeast of Shizuoka, Shizuoka Prefecture (Honshu), Japan, the Korea Meteorological Administration reported, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA).


The epicenter was at 22.20 degrees north latitude and 143.00 degrees east longitude, with a depth of 260 km.


The Korea Meteorological Administration stated, "There is no domestic impact," and explained, "This data is based on the analysis results of the Japan Meteorological Agency (JMA)."
