People Power Party "Expand Elderly Welfare Housing to 20,000 Units Within 3 Years"

On the 12th, the People Power Party promised to enact a special law to expand silver towns for the working class and middle class.

On the same day, the People Power Party announced its second pledge, "Elderly Strong Tomorrow," at the National Assembly, which includes measures to stabilize housing and jobs for the elderly. First, to prepare for the super-aged society, they plan to activate the supply of silver towns targeting the working class and middle class. The plan is to lay the foundation for expanding various forms of elderly housing welfare, such as the Korean-style retirement residential complex (CCRC).

They will also expand the supply of silver towns linked to housing pensions. When moving into a silver town, residents will be allowed to subscribe to housing pensions without residing in their existing homes, enabling them to secure cash flow to cover silver town costs. The criteria for subscribing to housing pensions will be relaxed, including expanding the housing value limit.

There is also a plan to improve the national screening system for elderly health management. A new integrated consultation fee for the elderly will be established for polypharmacy management, frailty assessment, and health behavior counseling.

Considering the high demand for care in local communities, elderly personnel will be strengthened in areas that truly need support, such as childcare facilities, all-day care, services for the disabled, elderly-related facilities, and safety management support. The proportion of social service-type jobs among elderly jobs will be expanded to 30% by 2027.

The People Power Party stated, "The pledge announced today is a promise for the peaceful old age of the elderly who have devoted and sacrificed for national development, and a pledge to firmly guarantee a sustainable future for all members of society living together with the elderly."
