The Reform New Party, New Future, New Choice, and Principles and Common Sense?four third-zone forces that have united as the Reform New Party?held their first meeting on the Lunar New Year holiday, the 11th.


Six members, including Reform New Party co-leaders Lee Nak-yeon and Lee Jun-seok, lawmakers Kim Jong-min and Lee Won-wook, and former lawmakers Geum Tae-seop and Kim Yong-nam, gathered for a dinner meeting at a traditional Korean restaurant in Jongno-gu, Seoul.


Co-leader Lee Nak-yeon said, "Although the time was not very long, I thank everyone for successfully concluding the integration negotiations," adding, "I also appreciate co-leader Lee Jun-seok for generously helping to ensure the integration goes well."


He continued, "On the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, many citizens showed their expectations and interest in our integration news, and I am grateful for that," and stated, "We will do our best to meet the public’s expectations. We will officially activate the leadership and swiftly carry out the necessary tasks during this period."


Co-leader Lee Jun-seok emphasized, "The integration has been achieved one way or another, and now the integration is just beginning," adding, "As the saying goes, 'Well begun is half done.' We have overcome difficult hurdles to get this far, and filling the remaining half depends on our capabilities and attitude."


He said, "At today’s meeting, we must quickly proceed with the process of filling the remaining half," and added, "I hope we can give the people a great gift from the beginning of the new year."


They held a press conference at the National Assembly on the first day of the Lunar New Year holiday, the 9th, to announce the integration agreement.
