"I Guess I Can Accept It That Way"

DJ Yesong (An Yesong), who caused a fatal drunk driving accident, apologized to the bereaved families by saying, "I also lost my father when I was young," but it was revealed that her father is still alive.

Earlier, through her mother in prison, Yesong explained the situation to Sports Chosun, saying, "Right after the accident, the victim was not visible, and I did not realize that I had hit someone," and "Many people gathered around the car, so I got out of the car, and then because the dog was barking loudly and the scene was noisy, I was told to hold the dog, so I held the dog."

She continued, "No one would disregard human life and only care for a dog," and "Having lost my father and lived with my mother alone, I understand the sorrow and emptiness well. I want to apologize once again."

However, JTBC reported, citing a whistleblower, that Yesong's biological father is alive, and her statement was false.

Yesong's side later admitted the whistleblower's claim was true, explaining, "There was a misunderstanding because my daughter's position was conveyed through her mother," and "She said she grew up without her father, not that she lost him. She did not say that her father was dead when he is clearly alive." They added, "She said she raised the child (Yesong) without her husband from the age of three," and "She did not say the husband died. From the other party's perspective, it might have been interpreted that way."

Yesong's mother stated, "I placed chrysanthemums and bowed at the accident site," and "I believe my daughter must receive the punishment she deserves. I am very sorry to the deceased and acknowledge that she committed a grave sin."

Yesong is accused of driving a Mercedes-Benz while intoxicated around 4:30 a.m. on the 3rd in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and hitting a motorcycle. A video showing her standing holding her dog without providing proper first aid sparked public outrage.

The 50-year-old delivery motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital in cardiac arrest and ultimately passed away. At the time, Yesong's blood alcohol concentration exceeded 0.08%, the license cancellation level, with no positive drug test results, and she had no passengers.
