Dormitory for Foreign Rural Workers to Be Established in Anseong Iljuk

A dormitory for foreign workers in rural areas will be established in Iljuk-myeon, Anseong-si, Gyeonggi-do. Anseong City announced on the 7th that it was recently selected for the 'Agricultural Worker Dormitory Construction' contest project promoted by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs.

With this contest selection, the city secured 750 million won in national funds. Previously, the city was selected last year for Gyeonggi-do's foreign worker accommodation construction support project and obtained 1.65 billion won in provincial funds.

The city plans to build a dormitory for foreign workers that can accommodate about 50 people in Neungguk-ri, Iljuk-myeon by 2026, combining the budget secured through the two contests and its own resources.

An official from Anseong City said, "The construction of the foreign worker dormitory is expected to greatly help alleviate the labor shortage in rural areas."
