Hyundai Engineering & Construction announced on the 7th that it has received the highest grade of 'Leadership A' in the climate change response category from the Korea Committee of the global sustainability management evaluation organization, the Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP).

'Leadership A' is a grade awarded to only about 300 companies, representing 1.5% of more than 23,200 evaluated worldwide that responded to the CDP assessment last year. Hyundai Engineering & Construction is the only domestic construction company to receive this grade.

CDP is a non-profit international organization established in the UK in 2000. It requests major companies worldwide to disclose information on carbon management strategies, risk management capabilities, and efforts to reduce greenhouse gases in response to climate change, and publishes analyzed reports to provide to investors and stakeholders.

CDP responses are provided to financial institutions worldwide and used as investment guidelines. Along with the Dow Jones Sustainability Index, it is recognized as one of the most credible indicators in sustainability evaluations.

Hyundai Engineering & Construction received high scores across all areas including climate change response strategies, greenhouse gas reduction efforts, and climate change scenario analysis, earning the Leadership A grade in the climate change category.

In October 2022, Hyundai Engineering & Construction became the first listed domestic construction company to declare carbon neutrality. It has continuously pursued various eco-friendly businesses such as renewable energy, hydrogen business, and zero energy buildings.
