In the 33rd minute of the first half, with the score tied 1-1 between Rayo Vallecano and Sevilla, Ocampos grabbed the ball and stood outside the line to prepare for a throw-in. A Rayo Vallecano fan sitting close to the ground poked Ocampos's buttocks with an outstretched index finger. Startled, Ocampos turned around, and the referee temporarily stopped the game.

According to the Associated Press, some Rayo Vallecano fans watched the scene with laughter. After the match, Ocampos told DAZN in an interview, "I hope La Liga takes racism and such player mockery seriously," adding, "Not all Rayo Vallecano fans behave badly, but there are always one or two who cause such incidents anywhere." He continued, "I hope this never happens again," expressing concern by saying, "Imagine if this happened at a women's soccer match."

Sevilla FC also took a strong stance regarding the sexual harassment Ocampos endured. The club stated, "We deeply regret the incident that occurred during the match against Rayo Vallecano," condemning it by saying, "Ocampos was subjected to obscene and inappropriate behavior by local fans."
