As a two-term lawmaker, Kim officially declared his challenge for a third term by pledging the timely and flawless completion of the Yeongilman Bridge as his first campaign promise.

Through his experience in the National Assembly, Kim proposed key pledges to lay the foundation for Pohang’s next 100 years, including ▲the establishment of a 10 million-pyeong secondary battery industrial complex ▲attracting a medical school ▲and the hydrogen reduction steel plant project.

Having served as the secretary of the Land, Infrastructure and Transport Committee, Kim presented a vision for Pohang’s future centering on secondary batteries rather than steel. During the 21st National Assembly, he laid the groundwork for the secondary battery industry, passed the special law on the Pohang earthquake, secured the establishment of the SRT line between Suseo and Pohang, and obtained budgets for secondary battery projects and the construction of the Yeongilman Bridge, earning recognition for creating a foundation for Pohang’s future growth industries.

Kim Jeong-jae stated, “Pohang now stands at a critical crossroads that will determine its next 100 years,” adding, “We must achieve a new leap forward for POSCO based on the hydrogen economy and attract a research-centered medical school.” He expressed his ambition for a third term by saying, “With my eight years of legislative experience, I aim to lead the success of the Yoon Seok-yeol administration through victory in the general election and to create hope for Pohang, which faces the crisis of local extinction.”
