Gijang-gun, Jeonggwan Jawangcheon Riverside Lunar New Year Joint Public-Private Environmental Cleanup Activities

About 60 Members of the Resident Autonomy Committee and Village Chiefs Association Participate

Busan Gijang-gun (Governor Jeong Jong-bok) recently conducted an environmental cleanup activity called ‘Residents Directly Caring for Jwagwangcheon’ around the Jwagwangcheon area in Jeonggwan-eup.

Gijang-gun conducted a joint public-private environmental cleanup activity to celebrate the Lunar New Year along the Jeonggwan Jawangcheon Stream.

This cleanup activity was jointly carried out by the Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee (Chairman Moon Jae-cheol) and the Jeonggwan-eup Village Leaders Association (President Choi Jin-ho) to provide a pleasant and safe environment for returning visitors coming home for the Lunar New Year holiday through pre-holiday environmental maintenance.

About 60 participants, including members of the Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee, village leaders of Jeonggwan-eup, and staff from the County Forestry and Parks Department, gathered to pick up trash and remove pollutants from Jwagwangcheon along the Jwagwan Witgol Park, Gumokjeong Park, the Jwagwangcheon riverside walking trail, and the bicycle path, working hard to create a clean environment.

A Gijang-gun official said, “We thank the members of the Jeonggwan-eup Residents' Autonomy Committee and the village leaders of the Jeonggwan-eup Village Leaders Association who participated in the environmental cleanup to make Jwagwangcheon clean,” adding, “The clean environment of Jwagwangcheon depends above all on the interest and will of Jeonggwan residents, and we hope for active participation and cooperation from local residents so that Jwagwangcheon can become a pleasant and beautiful place.”
