Increase in General Election Regulatory Legislation, Strengthening Environmental Regulations
Need to Establish Optimal Response Measures

Law firm Kwangjang (Representative Lawyer Kim Sang-gon) and the Korea Economic Association (Chairman Ryu Jin) jointly held the ‘2024 Corporate Management Legal and Institutional Risk Assessment Seminar’ at the FKI Tower Conference Center in Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul on the 30th of last month.


Kim Sang-gon, Representative Lawyer of Kwangjang (56, Judicial Research and Training Institute Class 23), stated, "Since significant legal and institutional changes that will greatly impact corporate management are expected, we judged that it is necessary to provide expert insights and establish optimal response measures, which led us to organize the seminar with the Korea Economic Association."


Kim Chang-beom, Executive Vice Chairman of the Korea Economic Association, emphasized in his greeting, "Domestically, regulatory legislation is expected to increase due to the general election phase this year, and externally, management risks are likely to grow due to strengthened environmental regulations. Companies need to proactively respond to these legal and institutional risks."

Kim Kyung-chun, Lawyer at Kwangjang (44, Class 35), who gave a presentation on the Capital Market Act and the Commercial Act, said, "It is necessary to continuously monitor the legislative process in the future, including specific details about the mandatory tender offer price."


Lawyer Seon Jeong-ho (48, Class 37), who presented on the Fair Trade Act, explained, "Recently, concerns about monopolies and oligopolies by large platforms have been growing, and the possibility of new related regulations is increasing, such as the accumulation of investigation cases by the Fair Trade Commission."


Lawyer Song Hyun-seok (50, Class 34) advised regarding major precedents related to disadvantageous changes in employment rules in Supreme Court rulings, "When companies change employment rules as part of personnel system reforms, it is necessary to faithfully follow the proper procedures required by Supreme Court precedents to prevent disputes that may arise later."
