Choi Tae-won, chairman of the Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI), has taken the initiative in 'shampoo and detergent refills.'

According to the business community on the 4th, Chairman Choi recently appeared in a video titled "Visited a Refill Station" released on KCCI's YouTube channel, where he said, "You can fill your own prepared containers with as much shampoo or detergent as you need," adding, "It's a great way to reduce waste and say 'Bye Bye' to plastic."

Chairman Choi joined the nationwide plastic reduction campaign called the "Bye Bye Plastic Challenge" (BBP Challenge). Earlier, on the 25th of last month, he attended the "ERT Members Day" event hosted by the KCCI's Entrepreneurs Roundtable (ERT), where he toured a "one-day refill station" that allowed participants to refill kitchen and laundry detergents, cosmetics, and other products, and experienced refill-related products firsthand.

The BBP Challenge is a nationwide campaign aimed at reducing unnecessary plastic use in daily life by encouraging participants to pledge their commitment and nominate the next person to spread the movement. Hundreds of people, including Environment Minister Han Hwa-jin, comedian Lee Eun-ji, volleyball star Kim Yeon-koung, Pengsoo, and singer Paul Kim, are participating.

Having been nominated by Yeom Jae-ho, president of Taejeon University, Chairman Choi said, "Everyone must make efforts to reduce plastic," and added, "KCCI's ERT will take the lead in practicing plastic reduction together with its 200,000 member companies."

Waving his hands while shouting "Bye Bye Plastic," Chairman Choi nominated Ryu Jin, chairman of the Korea Economic Association, Park Hyung-joon, mayor of Busan, and Na Kyung-soo, CEO of SK Geocentric, as the next participants.
