Regarding the news that President Yoon Suk-yeol is scheduled to have a New Year's interview with KBS on the 7th, Lee said, "If there is an explanation and clarification regarding the various suspicions about First Lady Kim Keon-hee, I hope it will be done in the most proactive manner," adding, "However, no matter how strongly (the explanation) is made, it will not escape criticism of being a proxy apology or a proxy expression of regret."

In response to his recent criticism of the Reform Future Party, also known as the "Lee Nak-yeon New Party," as being "no different from Yoon's core faction," he said, "Some people close to former Prime Minister Lee Nak-yeon have made various remarks that do not help integration discussions and were criticisms based on a misunderstanding of the Reform New Party's reform policies," adding, "If they are going to criticize, I hope they do so openly with real names."

Regarding former lawmaker Yoo Seung-min's decision not to leave the People Power Party and to not run in the April 10 general election, Lee said, "It seems he is facing one last challenge. I think he has no choice but to take a more cautious approach than before."

When asked about his candidacy in Daegu, Lee said, "It is a situation where a strategic decision must be made," and added, "If the citizens of Daegu support me, I would gladly accept it anytime, but it is not yet the stage to decide." He further added, "I believe it is almost possible to field candidates in all 12 constituencies in Daegu."

Meanwhile, Lee, along with floor leader Yang Hyang-ja and Supreme Council members Heo Eun-ah and Lee Ki-in, visited Daegu Seomun Market and Chilseong Market on the same day and continued policy promotion in Dongseong-ro.
