JCS: "North Korea Fires Multiple Cruise Missiles Over West Sea"

The Joint Chiefs of Staff announced that North Korea fired multiple cruise missiles into the West Sea on the 2nd.


The JCS stated, "Around 11 a.m. today, we detected multiple cruise missiles launched by the North toward the West Sea, and South Korean and U.S. intelligence authorities are conducting a detailed analysis." They added, "Our military is strengthening surveillance and vigilance while closely cooperating with the U.S., and we are closely monitoring any additional signs and activities from North Korea."


This marks the third time in three days that North Korea has launched cruise missiles, following the launch on the 30th of last month. On the 24th, North Korea fired multiple new strategic cruise missiles 'Bulhwacheol-3-31' toward the West Sea near Pyongyang, and on the 28th, it launched two Bulhwacheol-3-31 missiles near the waters off Sinpo City, South Hamgyong Province. Three days ago, on the 30th, it fired the existing 'Hwasal-2 type' missiles into the West Sea.
