Kwon Jun-myeong, CEO of Mugunghwa Trust, has been appointed as the 17th president of the Construction Housing Forum.

On the 30th, the Construction Housing Forum held its regular general meeting and 28th anniversary ceremony at the Elliena Hotel in Samseong-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, and announced the appointment of Kwon Jun-myeong, CEO (Vice Chairman) of Mugunghwa Trust.

In his inaugural speech, the new president Kwon said, "Through the forum's active research and policy improvement activities, I will strive to improve the practical difficulties in the construction and housing sector, lead the future directions and trends of real estate changes, and contribute to the enhancement of residential culture."

At the event, Kwon Do-yeop, former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and advisor to the forum, and Yoo Jae-bong, honorary president and 16th president, received the 'Proud Construction Housing Person Award.' Lee Woo-jin, CEO of the tax firm Ire, and Kim Jae-sik, full-time vice chairman of the Korea Housing Association, were awarded plaques of merit.

Kim Seung-bae, president of the Korea Real Estate Development Association, said in his keynote speech, "Urgent public-private cooperation is needed to solve major government policy tasks such as restoring the housing ladder, urban complex development, and renovation of aging planned cities." He proposed the establishment of a comprehensive department for non-apartment and housing policies, reestablishment of principles for financial and tax systems, advancement of the residential construction production system, participation of diverse business entities, and introduction of advanced development finance.

The Construction Housing Forum is a private forum consisting of about 280 experts with master's and doctoral degrees from academia and industry in housing, construction, and finance.
