This is a follow-up measure to the January 10 housing supply expansion plan, with participation from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH), and Korea Real Estate Board.
The Future City Support Center will be initially established in nine locations, including five first-generation new towns and four major cities nationwide. LH will set up centers in the five first-generation new towns to support aging planned city maintenance projects. The Korea Real Estate Board will establish centers in Seoul, Daejeon, Gwangju, and Busan to support general redevelopment and reconstruction projects.
The support centers operated by LH will conduct resident briefings and telephone consultations for local governments and residents who wish to promote aging planned city maintenance projects. For those seeking consulting, face-to-face consultations will be conducted after making a reservation. Resident briefings for each first-generation new town will begin on February 2 in Gunpo City and February 3 in Goyang City.
LH stated, "Before establishing the basic plan, we provide basic consulting on project methods by special act type and the feasibility of project initiation," and "After establishing the basic plan, we offer in-depth consulting on specific project concept analysis and future project promotion procedures." Related public institutions such as Korea Land and Geospatial Informatix Corporation (LX) and Housing and Urban Guarantee Corporation (HUG) participate in the consulting process. Private experts in law, finance, accounting, and development also participate.
The support centers operated by the Korea Real Estate Board will provide consulting on redevelopment and reconstruction projects implemented under the "Urban Maintenance Act." They will offer advice on complex and difficult related laws and regulations, such as project procedures, to residents who wish to start maintenance projects. Additionally, they will provide analysis services on the feasibility of starting maintenance projects, such as reviewing legal requirements for maintenance zones.
For projects that have already started, comprehensive consulting services will be provided, including consultations on promotion committees and association establishment, construction contract advice, support for resolving various disputes, and guidance on major legal amendments that may arise during the project promotion process. Consulting services can be applied for in advance through the Korea Real Estate Board website or by phone, and face-to-face consultations can be conducted at the support centers.
The Korea Real Estate Board Future City Support Center plans to provide easy-to-understand guidance on redevelopment and reconstruction system improvements announced through the housing supply expansion plan via its website. Starting in February, regional on-site briefings will also be held to explain the current system and future policy directions.
Park Sang-woo, Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, will participate in the plaque unveiling ceremony of the Future City Support Center opening at Gunpo City Hall at 1:30 p.m. on the same day. At this event, he plans to explain the support plan for maintenance projects through the Future City Support Center and express the government's commitment to expanding housing supply through smooth and prompt maintenance of aging housing.
